अभी – अभी तो आया हूँ
थका हुआ लौटकर घर के आंगन में
बहुत दूर से आया हूँ
अपनों के इंतजार में
बहुत दिनों से आया हूँ
घर के संसार में
अभी – अभी तो आया हूँ
घर की चौखट
देखकर ही थकान मिट गई हैं
अंदर से कई आवाजे आ रही हैं
लगता हैं सब के मन चहक रहे हैं
यही देखने तो मैं आया हूँ
चौखट पर ठिठक गए कदम
किसे बुलाऊँ सबसे पहले
थोड़ा घर को ताकने मैं बैठ गया हूँ
तब अंदर से दादी की आवाज हैं आई
सब आओ मेरे पास एक खुशखबरी आई
मैं भी बड़ा उत्सुक हुआ
जोर से कुंदी बजाई
दादी बोली ठहर जा बेटा
सुनकर नाम मेरा
मेरी आँखे भर आई
दरवाजा खुलते ही मैंने पूछा
दादी कैसे जान लिया
मैं आया हूँ कैसे पहचान लिया
हाथों से दुलारते हुए दादी बोली
मेरी गोदी में खेला हैं तू
तेरे कितने नन्हें पावं सहे हैं मैंने
अब तो तेरी हर आहट को मैं जान गई हूँ
अभी – अभी तो आया हूँ
घर के आंगन में यों घूम रहा हूँ
जैसे कुछ गुम हो गया था मेरा
उसे तलाश रहा हूँ
अभी – अभी तो आया हूँ
सब ने घेर लिया हैं मुझे
यही देखने मैं आया हूँ
अभी – अभी तो आया हूँ………..

I have sat down to look,
at the house for a bit.
Then grandmother’s voice,
came from inside.
Everyone, come,
I have good news.
I was also very curious,
rang the button loudly.
Grandma said, wait, son.
Hearing my name,
my eyes filled with tears.
As soon as,
door opened I asked.
How did grandma know?
